Ronaldo reached the total after 196 games for the Red Devils, which is 73 more than it took Kane.

The England international now tallies a total of 27 league goals this year - including 13 goals for club and country during September.

After failing to net a single goal in August, the Tottenham talisman has certainly redeemed his reputation this month.

Ahead of Saturday's fixture against newly-promoted Huddersfield, he had scored nine goals in his last five appearances for Spurs.

He entered the Kirklees Stadium brimming with confidence after scoring the perfect hat-trick in sublime style against Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday.

Welsh outfit Cardiff City have proved the only problem for the striker - who has scored against the other 25 teams that he has faced in the Premier League.
