Arsenal legend Martin Keown predicts contract rebel Mesut Ozil will leave Emirates in January
The Germany international has entered the last year of his current contract with Arsenal and has until now refused to sign a new contract with the Gunners.
ARSENAL legend Martin Keown has blasted Mesut Ozil and believes he "will be gone" in January after rejecting several contract offers from the Gunners.
The German international has had a poor start to the season and has been disrupted by injury and ongoing concerns about his future.
The 29-year-old has entered the final year of his current contract with Arsenal and is yet to commit to his future.
The former England international was furious at Ozil for failing to take his chances and has once again questioned his attitude and commitment.
He told BT Sport: "The top players are ruthless and they don’t play for fun. I don’t know if he’s got that ruthlessness in his makeup.
“That ball has got to be in the back of the net. That should be game over, Arsenal have won the game.

“People might think I’m gunning for him, but you’ve got to be clinical in those situations.
“Is he really bothered? He’s just missed a chance to win a game for Arsenal.
“Everything that happens afterwards wouldn’t have happened. I don’t know if he cares enough or not but he’s certainly not ruthless enough.
“He had a gilt-edged opportunity to wrap up proceedings today and he didn’t take it.

Keown also beleieves that Ozil ias now surplus to requirements at the Emirates.
He said: “There’s only one outcome here. When it comes to January surely Mesut Ozil will be gone.
