Sky and BT Sport announce festive fixtures with Arsenal’s clash with Liverpool NOT on Christmas eve
The Gunners fixture against the Merseyside giants will not be moved following a backlash from the fans
FOOTBALL fans can prepare for a festive season packed with Premier League action with 17 matches taking place in December.
However, there will be no fixtures taking place on Christmas Eve.
The highly anticipated fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool will not be moved to Christmas Eve following backlash from the fans.
SkySports proposed that the match will take place on December 24, but there would have been no way for visiting fans to get back to Liverpool that night by train.
The Gunners will therefore take on Jurgen Klopp's side on Friday, December 22.
Leicester City's home game against Manchester United has also been moved to the Saturday, 23 December.
Sky wanted the fixture to take place on Christmas eve, but this was ruled out for safety reasons.
Leicester Tigers are already playing on that date against Saracens at Welford Road, which raised concerns.
Liverpool v Everton and Manchester United v Manchester City will be shown on a bumper Nissan Super Sunday show on Sunday, December 10.
Two other games have also been moved from the Christmas Eve slot - Everton v Chelsea and Burnley v Tottenham.
