Jack Wilshere goes all out in training as he sweats on future with Arsenal
The England international has attracted interest from Manchester City and Chelsea after recovering from injury
JACK WILSHERE has grabbed his final chance at the Emirates with both hands.
The 25-year-old has excelled under the management of Arsene Wenger this term, despite being handed limited game-time.
The midfielder appears to be putting in the work during a training session with the Gunners following a 5-2 thumping against Everton on Sunday.
He will be battling to secure his spot in the starting XI as Arsenal prepare to host Norwich City on Tuesday in the Football League Cup.
Despite impressing against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League, Wenger decided to drop him to the bench for the clash against the Toffees.
After enduring 77 minutes on the sidelines, he replaced Alexandre Lacazette in the 77th minute and shined yet again.
He provided an assist for Aaron Ramsey to give the Gunners a late 4-1 lead.
His rich vein of form has not gone unnoticed, with England boss Gareth Southgate refusing to call out a Wilshere recall.
The 25-year-old's current contract runs out in the summer, which means he could leave the Emirates for free on July 1.
Outsider clubs will be able to begin pre-contract negotiations with Wilshere in January.
Arsenal latest news
Wenger insists the England international is getting back to his best, but he is regularly overlooked in the top flight.
Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are among the clubs scrambling for the midfielder's signature - if he is not offered a new deal in north London.
Wenger recently told beIN Sports that the 25-year-old has until December to prove himself.
The French boss said: "Nobody would question his talent. Nobody would question his exceptional ability to beat people with the ball. But in this job you need first health.
"If he can play from now until December at the top level he will be back."
"If there are other setbacks then it will be difficult for him."
