AINSLEY MAITLAND-NILES aims to build on his promotion to the first-team squad, with a start against Norwich in the League Cup.

Who is Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Born in Goodmayes, London, he joined the club at the age of six, coming up through Arsenal's revered Hale End Academy.

Maitland-Niles made his senior team debut against Galatasaray in 2014, becoming the club's second-youngest Champions League player at 17, behind Jack Wilshere.

He made his Premier League debut four days later against Newcastle United, but the following season he was shipped out on loan to Ipswich Town, where he played 30 Championship games.

The 20-year-old has gone on to earn 14 appearances for the Gunners, mostly in the League Cup.
