GLENN MURRAY gave Brighton the three points as Swansea's shocking home run continued.
The striker's first-half goal was the difference between the teams at the Liberty Stadium.
Defeat leaves Swansea hovering above the relegation zone and their brittle confidence means they look set to face a long battle with the drop this season.
Paul Clement's men started well, dominating possession in the South Wales sunshine.
Kyle Naughton's cross to Jordan Ayew was well stopped by Shane Duffy as the hosts pushed for an opener.
New England call-up Tammy Abraham was lively in attack, but any misplaced passes from those in white were met with boos by Swansea's frustrated home crowd.
It allowed Brighton to grow in confidence.
Federico Fernandez was booked for wiping out Murray and minutes later, he put the Seagulls ahead.
Anthony Knockaert's cross from the right found Murray who escaped the static Fernandez and bundled the ball home.
Brighton should have been further clear by the break as Swansea wilted.

Murray had a shot deflected wide and Lewis Dunk's header forced Lukasz Fabianski into a smart save as Swansea were booed off at half time.
The home side finally woke up at the start of the second period.
Abraham twice went close in quick succession and Clement introduced Luciano Narsingh for the error-prone Tom Carroll.
But it failed to make any difference to the scoreline with Abraham the only home player who looked like capable of finding an equaliser.
The 20-year-old was the one bright spark for Swansea, but he couldn't find a way through and Narsingh struck the bar late on when through on goal.
It was a glorious chance and summed up Swansea's woe as they left the field to more catcalls at the full-time whistle.
Brighton's Anthony Knockaert, speaking to BBC Sport: "First and foremost it's important to keep clean sheets. We've had two great performances away from home.
"Swansea are never easy to win against. It's really good for our confidence that we have now won four games.
"Our team spirit is amazing, it is working well at the moment but we have to stay focused as there are a lot of games to go.
"I'm delighted to have assisted the goal to Glenn Murray but the important thing is to get the three points so I'm delighted with our performance."
