Alexis Sanchez beams in Arsenal training ahead of West Ham Carabao Cup clash

The seemingly departing Gunners forward was all smiles in training while speculation about his future looms large

ARSENAL star Alexis Sanchez was all smiles in training today amid rumours about his future at the club.

The north London side take on the Hammers at the London Stadium tomorrow night - with the League Cup being the only domestic trophy that Arsene Wenger hasn't won.

The Chilean's contract is due to expire at the end of this season, and without progress on any new deals it looks likely he will leave.

That could happen in January - where Arsenal would recoup some of their £31.7m fee, or in the summer for nothing.

It was a surprise when the Gunners didn't cash-in last summer - with Manchester City the front-runners for his signature.

Arsenal fans could take some sort of message that Alexis is happy at the Emirates and wants to stay based on his big grin in training today.

Alexis has been out of sorts this season, scoring just four goals in his 14 Premier League appearances so far this season.

That figure is a far cry from his 24 strikes in the league last season, falling just short of the Golden Boot to Harry Kane.

The Gunners are also in danger of losing Mesut Ozil - whose contract will also expire come May next year.

He has been linked with former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho - who reportedly wants the German to join him at Manchester United.
