ANTHONY JOSHUA has predicted that Arsene Wenger will receive a knock-out blow this season.

The boxing world heavyweight champion does not rate the Arsenal manager's chances of going the distance once Premier League combat gets underway.

Wenger survived intense and often vicious calls for his sacking as Arsenal's campaign fell apart last season.

And ahead of their opening fixture at home to Leicester on Friday night, Joshua has dealt him another blow.

The IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight champion was asked in a video produced by deodorant maker Lynx if Wenger would be "in or out" this season.

"It seems Wenger out, that's all I'm hearing right now," said a laughing Joshua.

"There's even a track on it and everything," added Joshua, possibly in reference to rapper Uncle Ed's hilarious anti-Wenger tune.

Joshua, who was born in Watford, has previously denied supporting any particular football team.

However, he joined in a Manchester United training session and was presented with a customised shirt by Jose Mourinho in May.

That came just two weeks after Joshua sensationally stopped boxing legend Wladimir Klitschko in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

Wenger has added France striker Alexandre Lacazette for £46.5million this summer and led his team to victory over Manchester United in the Community Shield.

But Gunners legend Ian Wright has predicted another tough year for Wenger, saying his team still lacks leaders.

And statistical boffins have predicted Arsenal will miss out on Champions League qualification again this season, which would surely increase the pressure on the Frenchman.
