Ronald McDonald ditched for walk on for Man United vs Barcelona after his appearance in Santa Clara
McDonald's clown walked out with Man United and Real Madrid teams in Santa Clara, but he wasn't in Maryland on Wednesday
RONALD MCDONALD'S football mascot career was short lived.
Unlike his lengthy spell as the fast-food chain's mascot, he was ditched after just one game at the International Champions Cup.
Ronald walked the teams out when Man United played Real Madrid in Santa Clara on Sunday.
But he wasn't present when Jose Mourinho's men took on Barcelona in Landover, Maryland a few days later.
Instead it was just the players with young mascots all dressed in McDonald's outfits.
It looks like the commercial brains at the food giants had a rethink, and it seems to have spelled an end to Ronald's brief second career.
Fans were anticipating something big after Ronald's appearance at Levi's Stadium and also rapper Drake was in Houston for the clash with Man City.
One analyst on MUTV, though, said: "It's a relief Ronald McDonald is nowhere to be seen."
