Both Jones and Daley Blind have also been fined £4,500 for failing to take drug tests after the Europa League final victory against Ajax.

There is no suggestion that either player is guilty of doping.

Manchester United have also been fined £8,900 because of the rule breaches, and the club have three days to appeal against the decisions.

Jones is said to have been verbally abusive to a doping control official after he was requested to take a drug test after the 2-0 win in Stockholm.

Dutchman Blind was reluctant to take a test as he wanted to celebrate winning the trophy - that brought qualification for the Champions League - with his team-mates.

The news will come as a further blow to Jose Mourinho, who last week saw Eric Bailly handed a further two game ban for his conduct in the semi-final against Celta Vigo.

Bailly missed the Europa League final after lashing out at John Guidetti in the closing stages of that game.

Last week he was then handed another two game European ban for clashing with Facundo Roncaglia as the players left the pitch.

Bailly will miss the Super Cup and the first game of the Champions League group stage.
