Nemanja Matic completes £40million move to Manchester United from Chelsea on three-year deal
Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho reunited with former Blues midfielder for new season
NEMANJA MATIC has completed his £40million move to Manchester United.
The former Chelsea midfielder is reunited with boss Jose Mourinho on a three-year deal - and will wear the No 31 shirt.
Serbia international Matic, 29 tomorrow, sparked rumours his move was imminent when he was seen in a new Man United training shirt yesterday.
He is believed to have undertaken his medical at Carrington yesterday.
Matic said: "I am delighted to have joined Manchester United. To work with Jose Mourinho once again was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
"I have enjoyed my time at Chelsea and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support. I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and to start training with them.
"This is a very exciting time for the club and I am looking forward to playing my part in creating more history for this great club."
And Mourinho added: "Nemanja is a Manchester United player and a Jose Mourinho player.

"He represents everything we want in a footballer; loyalty, consistency, ambition, team player.
"I would like to thank him for his desire to join us because without that, it would be impossible to have him here. I am sure our players and supporters will love him. A big welcome to our new number 31."
Mourinho's capture of the defensive midfielder will almost certainly end his pursuit of Tottenham's Eric Dier.

Serie A champions Juventus were also in for Matic but they were put off by the £40m asking price.
Chelsea were resolute on their asking price having lost out on Romelu Lukaku to United.
Matic, who will wear the jersey former World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger had during his time at the club, is United's third summer signing.
He follows on from £75m Lukaku and £31m Victor Lindelof.
