Marouane Fellaini to consider Manchester United future in January as he falls down Jose Mourinho’s pecking order
Felliani has entered the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and is free to sign a deal abroad from January
MANCHESTER UNITED star Marouane Fellaini could quit Old Trafford following the arrival of Nemanja Matic.
The Daily Mail report the big Belgian knows he will fall down the pecking order to accommodate the Serbian who is expected to slot straight into Jose Mourinho’s starting line up.
The 29-year-old is in the final year of his deal and who will be free to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.
However, Jose Mourinho is a fan of the midfielder who will not be short of options if he pushed for a move this summer, with Galatasaray showing early interest.
Felliani opened the scoring in the comfortable 3-0 win over Valerenga on Sunday and the Portuguese insisted the Belgian is going nowhere.
Mourinho said: “It is easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. Forget it. He’s very important for me.”
Fellaini falls into that bracket of players this summer who are fighting for a World Cup spot – and his place could be on the line if he is not playing enough football this season.
The former Everton man started 18 Premier League games under Mourinho- and featured heavily in the Europa League starting in the 2-0 final win over Ajax.
