MANCHESTER UNITED fans joke Cristiano Ronaldo is returning to Old Trafford after the Real Madrid ace shook hands and hugged Jose Mourinho.

Red Devils supporters are attempting to reignite the rumours linking CR7 with a return to Manchester - which were in full swing earlier this summer.

Ronaldo reportedly wanted a return to Old Trafford after a lack of protection from Madrid after allegedly evading £13million in tax.

But despite the rumours dying down, United fans are determined to spark more life into the potential move.

Ronaldo started the match on the bench in Macedonia as he watched his side take a first-half lead in the 24th minute through Casemiro.

Isco then doubled Madrid's lead in the second half, seven minutes after the restart with a cool finish into the bottom corner.

Romelu Lukaku then pulled one back for the Red Devils on the hour mark.

During the match, Ronaldo discussed tactics with his team-mates during cooling breaks throughout the match.

Ronaldo came on in the 83rd minute for Karim Benzema.
