JOSE MOURINHO swiftly handed a Manchester United fan his Super Cup runners up medal after losing 2-1 to Real Madrid.

Romelu Lukaku pulled one back for the Red Devils in the second half but it wasn't enough after Isco and Casemiro gave Los Blancos a two-goal lead.

The Special One has a track record of handing his medals away to supporters - including when he threw his Premier League winners medal to Chelsea fans in 2006.

Mourinho said: "Look sometimes when I win I don't keep the medals, so imagine when I lose!

"And for me the medal will go to some place in my house and for that kid it's for sure something to keep and remember.

"It was a little kid in a Manchester United shirt, I have no idea where he comes from, so I think for the kid it is something he will never forget and for me, I repeat when I win they don't mean much, imagine when I lose."

Following the kind gesture, Mourinho also felt Casemiro's opener was offside.

He added: "I think we did well, we lost 2-1 which shows the result was close. One of the goals was offside, so with a good VAR (Video Assistant Referee) it would be 1-1 and extra-time.

"I think they could score more goals than they did and I think we could score more than we did.

"We were playing against a team full of fantastic players and we contested the result until the end."
