Manchester United expected to win the Premier League… with Arsenal again missing top four, based on total bets placed

Jose Mourinho's men are favourites to lift the trophy come May after a host of big-name additions in the transfer window

MANCHESTER UNITED will win the Premier League this season if the amount of bets placed with Ladbrokes is anything to go by.

Despite their Super Cup final loss to Real Madrid, punters are still incredibly optimistic about Jose Mourinho and Co's hopes in 2017-18.

In fact, the bookies can reveal it's United who have seen the most wagers placed in the outright market, with a perfect start to the season seeing them top the table after three games.

Manchester City sit in second spot, while the alternative Premier League table envisages Liverpool finishing above Chelsea in third and fourth respectively.

The Wembley factor could well be playing into punters' minds when it comes to backing Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs are currently chalked up to end the season outside the top six - below Everton.

Unfortunately faith appears to be low for Swansea, Stoke and West Brom's hopes of "doing a Leicester City".

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Manchester United fans clearly think this is their season.

"But cross-town rivals City aren't going to roll over that easily.

"The wagers suggest Liverpool fans think they'll be able to cling on to Philippe Coutinho.

"Meanwhile Antonio Conte's signings won't be enough for Chelsea to win back-to-back titles."
