Poch, in his Press conference ahead of Tottenham’s top-flight opener at Newcastle on Sunday, claimed Rose’s astonishing attack on the North Londoners was borne out of the player’s injury frustration.

Rose has been out since January after undergoing knee surgery.

Poch said: “He has apologised to the club, chairman, team-mates and fans. I think you can see his statement, its good.

“I was a player and after seven months not playing you can get frustrated.

“It’s a good statement for him and now it’s time to move on.

“No I haven’t spoken with him. That’s because he is injured and he is with other injured players recovering from problems.

“He has different dynamics and timings. I am sure I will see him tomorrow.

“Will he be disciplined? That is a matter for the club.

“But he signed a five-year contract last summer. He is our player and he needs to get focused on trying to get fit as soon as possible.

“He has been out since January. He needs to work hard on his rehabilitation. We are working hard with him.

“It’s important we move on. I forgive him and respect his opinion.”
