SOME fans will not even have made it to their seats before the first goal of the Premier League season was scored tonight (Friday).

And it was a dream for Alexandre Lacazette as he headed a debut goal to put Arsenal 1-0 up against Leicester after just 94 seconds.

But less than three minutes later and the Foxes were level when Shinji Okazaki headed a goal himself after £17million man Harry Maguire had nodded it back into the box.

And Twitter erupted in excitement at how the new football season had began.

Everton football Yannick Bolasi wrote: "What a start to the @premierleague", following it with a 'fire' emoji.

Matt Craig wrote "Wowwww Lacazette", while Jack Sullivan wrote the start was "why he had missed the Prem".

Piers Morgan of TV fame wrote that "Lacazette looks like a proper striker".

And South London rapper Youngen tweeted to say how Lacazette is "gonna score a lot of goals".

Most people were keen to point out how Lacazette had "announced" himself, while James Whitfield wrote how "much he's missed" the Premier League.

Jeremy Squires chose to criticise the standard of the defending as he pointed out that the "Premier League has completely decided to ignore any form of footballing defence".
