Manchester City ace Gabriel Jesus equals record for most Premier League games played without losing… level with forgotten Manchester United midfielder

GABRIEL JESUS equalled the record for most Premier League games played without ever losing this weekend following Manchester City's 2-0 win away to Brighton.

Pep Guardiola and Co snuck past the top-flight new-boys with a late double salvo thanks to Sergio Aguero and a Lewis Dunk own goal.

The Brazil star, 20, has now turned out 11 times for Man City in the Prem, winning eight times, drawing three and losing none.

The 11-game run means Jesus has drawn level with oft-forgotten Manchester United midfielder Simon Davies - NOT of Fulham fame - in the standings.

Back in 1994-95, Davies turned out 11 times for United, winning seven and drawing four - before being shipped off to the lower leagues.

As well as loan spells at Exeter City and Huddersfield, Davies would go on to play for Luton, Macclesfield and Rochdale to name just a few.

Since joining Man City, Jesus has been something of a revelation.

As well as failing to taste defeat even once, the Brazilian has scored an incredible seven times and laid on four assists.

He and Davies now sit above another former United player in the standings... Michael Clegg.

The defender was on the books at the Old Trafford side from 1995 to 2002, but went nine games without losing between 1996 and 1999 - winning eight of them.

Everton youngster Ademola Lookman is currently on an eight-game undefeated streak of his own, having won five and drawn three.

Former Danish superstar Brian Laudrup went seven games unbeaten at Chelsea in 1998 even though he was miserable at Stamford Bridge.

Laudrup was signed on a free transfer from Rangers but was unhappy that Gianluca Vialli had replaced Ruud Gullit as manager before he joined.

He tried to get out of the move before he arrived in West London and then Vialli's policy of rotating players just made things even worse.

He made just seven Premier League appearances before returning to Denmark, but was unbeaten in all of them.

Ex-Aston Villa man Richard Walker went six games unbeaten - three wins and three draws) between 1997 and 2000.

Jesus will now get the chance to hold the record for most Premier League games played while unbeaten outright, when City take on Everton at the Etihad on August 21.
