Manchester City and Chelsea are both also linked with Sanchez, 28, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.

But a defiant Wenger, when asked whether the Chilean will still be at Arsenal when the transfer window shuts on August 31, said: "Yeah, of course."

Liverpool have rejected Philippe Coutinho's transfer request as he tries to force through a move to Barcelona.

But Wenger is not surprised at the club's staunch stance.

When asked whether this is a sign of clubs taking back power from precious players, he said: "It's different to say power back.

"It looks unusual to the media sometimes that the clubs want the contracts to be respected. For me it looks logical.
