The thumping wins have seen the Old Trafford outfit sit top of the Premier League since day one.

And now, the performances have been so fearsome, bookies has slashed the odds on United staying in the No1 spot all season to just 100/1... down from 250/1.

Sun Bets editor Jimmy Lloyd revealed: "Our traders cannot believe the money they've taken on this.

"They had to slash the price to 100/1 after the Swansea game but even now we're seeing some interest.

"It appears as if the punters really do think this could happen.

"And if United keep winning, that price will only go one way."

While United staying in the No1 spot for a further 36 game-weeks seems something of a long-shot, there is one incredible omen to suggest it is not only possible, it's a dead-cert.

During Mourinho's Premier League career, every time he has led his side to the top of the table, he has get them there, never relinquishing the No1 spot.

During his days at Chelsea, the Special One led the Blues to the top of the table three times.

One each of those occasions, he would go on to lift the Premier League trophy without a sniff of danger - in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2014-15.
