'THEY DESERVE A BATTERING'

Arsenal midfield including Aaron Ramsey destroyed by Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher after lazy effort

Neville fumed over the first-half as he declared he would stick the entire Gunners squad on the transfer list

TWITTER has hailed Gary Neville's half-time analysis as 'spot on' after he slammed Arsenal's performance against Liverpool, with Aaron Ramsey the focus of his ire.

The outraged ex-Manchester United defender declared he would stick all of them on the transfer list as he talked with Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness on Sky Sports.

As Arsenal went 2-0 down in the first half after Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane netted against Cech, the pundits were fuming with the lack of effort from Arsene Wenger's squad.

The Gunners went on to tamely lose 4-0 at Anfield as Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge added goals.

Neville said: "It's well-known that I'm not a Liverpool fan but this Arsenal team deserve a battering.

"I'm absolutely fuming watching this, it's ridiculous some of the things you see them do on a football pitch.

"Three or four of these Arsenal players want to leave. Who wants to buy them? They better hope none of the scouts are here.

"I'd stick the whole lot of them on the transfer list. None of them would get a better club than where they are now."

Graeme Souness then joined in to say: "They need a couple of proper, disciplined central midfield players. Let the flair players go on and play. But protect those [centre-backs].

"Look at Keane, Makelele, Kante, Matic.

"Arsenal play the opposite way, like a group of schoolboys being thrown out there and told 'go and play boys, it's beggars belief for a big club to be playing like this."
Neville was still fuming after the game, despite the fact that he went toe-to-toe with the Gunners several times over his career.
He raged: "Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Xhaka.
"All of them, on occasions in that first 15 minutes did not do the most basic thing every fan knows they have to.
"When your team-mates are struggling you run back as fast as you can.
"You're taught that when you're five. All through your career your're told that, it's a personal pride thing. They've let themselves down as individuals."
