Goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge condemned Arsene Wenger's men to back-to-back defeats.

After the opening three Premier League games, they occupy 16th spot, conceding eight goals - the second highest in the top-flight behind West Ham.

Today's result typified the performance Gunners supporters have been accustomed to against the top sides - falling apart and the butt of the jokes from fellow supporters.

Ozil- who often shows his frustration on the pitch, took to social media to vent his anger where he vowed his side will bounce back after the international break.

He said: " Blame us, shout at us, criticize us, but I'm also very disappointed about today's game 😠.

"We wanted to achieve a positive result before the international break but we were simply not good enough during the 90 minutes and Liverpool deserved the win without a doubt.

"Usually I'm too angry to post on social media after such frustrating days like today, but I don't want to let this match go uncommented before traveling (sic) to the DFB Team.

"Nevertheless... Gunners, I'm sorry - especially for the fans who travelled all the way up to Liverpool to see us fighting.

"But we will try everything to improve in the next game and bounce back from the disappointment we are all feeling at the moment."

The passionate message from the German World Cup winner was a stark contrast to what Sanchez uploaded to his own Instagram account.

He simply posted a photo of himself looking a the ground, pondering his thoughts - of course that could be his last Arsenal match as he, like Ozil, has just a year left on his deal at the Emirates.

Playing his first match of the new campaign, the Chilean star offered little in attack, as the FA Cup champions were simply second best against Jurgen Klopp's electric attack.

Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were critical of Arsenal's performance at Anfield - singling out Aaron Ramsey for his lazy efforts, before Neville insisted Wenger should put them all on the transfer list.

Next up for the Community Shield winners is a home tie against Bournemouth on September 9.
