While the Gunners have been chasing the French international all summer, with Lemar believed to have told the club he wants to move to North London.

Arsene Wenger has had three offers rejected for his services including a £45m bid, with the French boss declaring that any move to bring him in this window is "dead".

But his admission failed to stop the Reds from entering the chase to bring him to Anfield - hoping to humiliate the FA Cup champions twice in two days.

They destroyed Arsenal on Sunday afternoon as they cruised to a 4-0 win, and then looked to nab their main transfer target this summer.

But according to RMC Sport, neither side will be acquiring the services of Lemar.

Get French Football News tweeted: "Breaking | AS Monaco have categorically decided not to sell Thomas Lemar, according to RMC/SFR Sport."

They claim that Liverpool are yet to submit an official offer, but would include Divock Origi in any potential deal.

Origi himself is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur, with his dad revealing that he is closing in on a move to join Spurs.

Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim is reluctant to offload any more players having seen the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva all jump ship to the Premier League.

They are set to lose teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe to PSG, who will seal a loan switch in the coming days where Unai Emery's side must pay £166m next summer for his services.
