Burnley preparing late bid for unwanted Huddersfield striker Nahki Wells with Terriers demanding £10m
The Clarets have opened talks with the Terriers over a move for the striker David Wagner told could leave the John Smiths stadium
BURNLEY are making a late bid to sign Nahki Wells from rivals Huddersfield to give them more firepower.
The Clarets have opened talks with the Terriers who want £10million for Wells - the striker they have told to leave.
Sean Dyche would rather take Wells for less or negotiate a deal that would start at a lower price and rise on appearances.
Wells has not played this season after having an operation to get a screw removed from an old ankle injury.
There are questions about when he will be fit to start for Burnley and that is a factor in the negotiations.
Burnley turned to Wells after failing to agree a fee with Lorient for forward Majeed Waris.
They offered less than the £10m demanded.
Huddersfield may be willing to drop their valuation on Wells slightly in the next 24 hours to speed the move along.
