Atletico Madrid star Nicolas Gaitan offered to Watford in shock loan deal in order to free up cash for further Diego Costa bid
La Liga giants hoping to recoup close to £2million in the temporary switch, in order to be able to afford Chelsea outcast
ATLETICO MADRID star Nicolas Gaitan has been offered to Watford in a shock loan deal in order to free up cash for a further Diego Costa bid.
The La Liga giants are hoping to recoup close to £2million in the temporary switch, in order to be able to afford Chelsea's outcast forward.
Gaitan only joined Atleti last summer in a £20million transfer from Portuguese giants Benfica.
The long-time Manchester United target went on to make 36 appearances, scoring four goals and delivering five assists.
The Spanish club hopes to ship the winger at a Premier League club in order to create room on their wage bill for Costa.
Watford are the team in pole position at present, according to reports, and would be the second surprising signing arriving at Vicarage Road this summer.
The Hornets already managed to grab Brazilian hot prospect Richarlison, despite a host of European giants being interested.
Watford has also brought in Nathaniel Chalobah, Will Hughes, Tom Cleverley and Andre Gray this summer.

Meanwhile, Costa has been looking to force a move away from Chelsea all summer.
The forward has not been training with the Blues and has claimed he will only leave to join his former club Atletico.
Chelsea had been hoping to get £50m for their star forward but are now set to only see around £30m, despite spending £32m to bring him to the Premier League in the first place.
