Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches joins Swansea in shock loan deal with £30m option to buy at end of season
The Welsh club have moved quickly to replace Gylfi Sigurdsson following his move to Everton with the signing of the Portuguese star
RENATO SANCHES has joined Swansea on loan for the season in one of the window's shock transfers.
And the Welsh side will have the option of BUYING the Bayern Munich man at the end of the temporary switch for £30million.
The Swans are thought to have paid a loan fee of around £4m and will also pay most of the midfielders wages.
Speaking to the club's official website, manager Paul Clement was understandably delighted at getting his man.
He said: “I'm delighted to secure his services, he is a player I know well having worked with him for six months at Bayern Munich before my own move to Swansea.
“Having moved from Benfica to Bayern Munich, he has not played as much as he would have liked.
"But this move to Swansea and the Premier League will provide him with a real positive development experience.
“As a player he is a dynamic, powerful central midfielder who I believe has all the attributes to suit the Premier League.’’

Sanches has been told he can leave Bayern on loan despite only joining the Bavarians a year ago.
French giants Monaco and Premier League high-flyers Liverpool were also keen, but Clement’s links with his former employers at the Allianz Arena has enabled him to complete the audacious switch.
Clement worked with Sanches, 20, while Carlo Ancelotti’s No2 at Bayern last season before taking charge at the Liberty Stadium.
His relationship with the Italian boss and reputation for working with younger players appears to have worked in the Swans’ favour.
Sanches has struggled since joining Bayern from Benfica last summer in a deal which may rise to £52million.
The Welsh side still have money to spend following Gylfi Sigurdsson’s £45m Everton switch despite signing Roque Mesa and Sam Clucas.
And despite the hefty loan fee, Clement will be delighted to add the Euro 2016 winner to his squad.
He had made adding another creative player before the window closes on Thursday his No1 priority.
Sanches has only appeared once for Bayern so far this campaign in the German Super Cup.
He only played 25 times for them in his opening season and failed to hit the target.
The Portuguese man will wear the number 85 shirt while at Liberty Stadium.
