Everton striker Oumar Niasse’s £7million switch to Crystal Palace falls through over agent fee

Deal sheet submitted before the 11pm deadline - then Palace officials took dim view of demands from Senegal striker's representative

OUMAR NIASSE is still an Everton player because Crystal Palace could not agree a fee with his agent.

The Daily Mail has revealed that all was set fair for a £7million move.

Niasse travelled to central London on deadline day after the two clubs had reached an agreement on the transfer.

A deal sheet was apparently submitted before the 11pm deadline to allow Palace two additional hours until 1am on Friday morning to submit the full paperwork.

But then Selhurst Park officials pulled up the drawbridge when it came to the Senegal striker's representative.

So Niasse, who scored five times on loan at Hull City last season, joined Ross Barkley in marching back to Goodison Park.

Niasse cost the Toffees £13.5million when he left Lokomotiv Moscow in 2016.

He hardly set Merseyside alight, failing to register a goal in seven league and cup games for Everton - five of them as a substitute.

But Palace boss Frank de Boer obviously thought Niasse's willingness to run and upset defenders would increase Christian Benteke's ability to find extra space and score more goals.

The player is now in a difficult position: Everton manager Ronald Koeman doesn't seem to rate him that highly.

But the Dutchman may have to turn to Niasse if he is unable tro find goals elsewhere in the absence of Romelu Lukaku.
