Alexis Sanchez was over in Chile trying to help his country beat Paraguay - and hoping his move to Man City would be finalised
ANY DEFENCE?

Manchester City ‘set to file official complaint against Arsenal’ as Alexis Sanchez ‘formally signed contract’ on transfer deadline day

Pep Guardiola thought he had the deal done for the Chile star but the Gunners pulled out and he's stuck at the Emirates

MANCHESTER CITY will hit Arsenal with an official complaint after the Gunners blocked their Alexis Sanchez deal AFTER it was signed, according to reports.

Chilean newspaper El Murcurio claims Pep Guardiola and his Etihad bosses are now considering legal action over the botched £60million transfer.

Sanchez took time away from his international camp with Chile to address the dragging situation and it was widely expected he would complete the deal before he faced Paraguay on Thursday night.

City bosses had sent their top delegates to the World Cup qualifier to get the deal over the line.

But it hit the buffers Chile were smashed 3-0 from the South American minnows to add rub salt in the Arsenal striker’s wounds.

The collapse is believed to be down to Arsene Wenger’s failure to complete the £92m transfer of Monaco man Thomas Lemar that same evening.

Wenger was in the stands to watch his No1 target destroy Holland in a 4-0 win – bagging a brace in France - and it must have been painful for the Gunners boss to see.

But that will be no consolation to Man City who thought they were on to a winner having started negotiations with Arsenal at the start of the summer.

Sanchez has apparently blown his top over the shambles and told Arsenal he will not play for them again is just biding his time before a January move.

By then he will only have six months remaining on his contract with the North London club and is likely to cost a lot less than the £60m they were prepared to pay this week.

Both City and Arsenal are blaming each other for the shambolic affair on the deadline day, but both Sanchez and his agent believe it is the Londoners in the wrong.
