ERIC DIER insists he never had any intention of caving into Jose Mourinho and handing in a transfer request this summer.
The Spurs midfielder was the Manchester United manager's top target before he was reunited with Nemanja Matic from Chelsea in a £40million deal.

But Dier, set to start for England against Slovakia tonight, has now revealed there was never any chance he would leave Mauricio Pochettino's title challengers.
That was because even during the summer break he thought about football only and not a possible switch away.
Dier said: "I think it's best if footballers worry about playing football.
"I take the philosophy that if I worry about the football everything else will take care of itself."
Dier also opened up in an interview with the Sunday Times about the huge riches on offer.

He defended players, claiming it is not their fault clubs are driving up their cost.
Dier said: "It isn't easy, people don't realise how difficult it is for us to handle as a situation.
"At the end of the day we're all the same, we're normal human beings with a gift we've been given, so it's very difficult to handle all those situations that happen in football with money and fame etc.
"It's not Ousmane Dembele's fault that he's good at football and someone [at Barcelona] is willing to pay £140m for him."
