Wilfried Zaha takes holiday break away while Crystal Palace ace wears metal knee brace
Wilfried Zaha compares himself to RoboCop while continuing his rehabilitation on his knee
WILFRIED ZAHA likened himself to RoboCop in an image where he can be seen sunning himself with a metal brace on his right knee.
The social media upload shows the Crystal Palace winger enjoying the international break while recovering from an injury that ruled him out for one month.
On his Instagram story, Zaha re-posted the picture of himself with his knee brace, followed by a video of him pedalling furiously on a bike and running in a rehabilitation centre to build up the strength in his knee.
The 24-year-old winger suffered a knee injury in Palace's game against Huddersfield on the opening day of their 2017/18 Premiership campaign.
Zaha continued to play on for the full 90 minutes, but left Selhurst Park supported by a knee brace and was ruled out of this month's fixtures for club and country.
During the game against Huddersfield, Zaha was fouled and brought down on four occasions, he was also the most fouled player in the Premier League last season on 121.
Following the clash, the Ivory Coast international was ruled out for a month, but Palace remain optimistic that he can return for their away game against Burnley this weekend.
Crystal Palace have lost all three of their opening premiership games and have conceded six goals.
The injury came as a blow to the club, who agreed a new five-year deal with Zaha in May, as they have struggled this season since Frank de Boer took over from Sam Allardyce.
De Boer is concerned that rushing Zaha's recovery could result in a setback, he said: "The risk is that you start too early, that he can have a setback, so we are going to see and don't put a time on it right now."
Should Zaha not be fit for the Burnley fixture, he could target Palace's game against Southampton on September 16 as his comeback.
