EA has been releasing player ratings for the biggest-selling sports game in the world, FIFA 18, this week.

And the Arsenal flop - who has been slammed at the start of the season for a string of dreadful performances - has come in rated higher than some of the Premier League's biggest stars.

It was revealed on Friday afternoon that Ozil was rated at 88 overall.

That put him ahead of Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante - both rated at 87 - and Dele Alli and Sadio Mane - both rated 84 - as well as a number of other stars from world football.

Ozil was slammed by a number of former Arsenal players and fans for his embarrassing performance against Liverpool before the international break.

He posted a long defence on social media.

He wrote: "Blame us, shout at us, criticize us, but I’m also very disappointed about today’s game.

"We wanted to achieve a positive result before the international break but we were simply not good enough during the 90 minutes and Liverpool deserved the win without a doubt.

"Usually I'm too angry to post on social media after such frustrating days like today, but I don't want to let this match go uncommented before traveling [sic] to the DFB Team.

"Nevertheless... Gunners, I'm sorry - especially for the fans who travelled all the way up to Liverpool to see us fighting.

"But we will try everything to improve in the next game and bounce back from the disappointment we are all feeling at the moment."

But despite that defence, fans took to social media to voice their anger at Ozil's superior rating to his rivals.
