Arsenal starlet Reiss Nelson scores stunning free-kick as Arsenal youngster reminds Arsene Wenger about his class against Manchester United Under-23s

Gunners youngster who impressed so much in pre-season continued to push for a place in the first team in style before team-mate Josh Dasilva scored another one

REISS NELSON reminded Arsenel Wenger he CAN use the kids if he wants to solve their current crisis with a stunning free kick against Manchester United reserves.

The 17-year-old netted a beautiful effort from the corner of the penalty area that flew straight into the top corner of Kieran O'Hara's goal.

Then Josh Dasilva scored an equally impressive effort from the opposite side to give the Gunners a 2-0 lead at Leigh Sports Village.

Arsenal had won two and lost one before the game, while United had won one, drawn one and lost one.

Luke Shaw started for United, but was unable to turn the game in the Red Devils' favour.

The England international had been criticised in a big way by Jose Mourinho last season, as the Portuguese questioned his attitude towards overcoming injury.

James Wilson, Demetri Mitchell and Scott McTominay also started, but they were unable to overcome their North London opponents.

Arsenal moved the ball with purpose at the multi-use stadium and once they were 2-0 up they had the wind in their sails.

United did their valiant best to get back into the game, with Wilson looking a threat, but looked to pick up a hip injury late on.

Wilson, 21, has been out since October after picking up a nasty knee injury while on loan at Derby last term.

But he looked to aggravate his hip after reaching to meet a cross at the near post.

McTominay was booked late on as the home side showed frustration at their lack of influence on the game.
