Harry Kane scores 100th Tottenham goal against Everton as striker finally gets his campaign underway with first of new season

England star pounced in the 28th minute at Goodison Park to put his side ahead and notch a personal landmark along the way

HARRY KANE has now scored 100 goals for Tottenham after netting the opener against Everton this afternoon.

The striker pounced in the 28th minute to put Spurs ahead at Goodison Park.

And Kane will also be celebrating a personal milestone as he made it a century of strikes for the north Londoners.

The England ace failed to hit the target even once last month - in fact, Kane is yet to score a single career goal in August.

But after netting while on international duty last week, it seems last season's top Premier League goalscorer has rediscovered his shooting boots.

Kane, who scored his first-ever Spurs goal in 2011 against Shamrock Rovers, picked up a wayward corner from some way out on the right before sending a bizarre looping effort past Jordan Pickford.

It's taken the attacker just 169 games to net his first 100 club goals - 12 fewer than it took Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to net his first century.

It also ended Kane's run of 25 shots without scoring in England's top flight - his second longest-ever drought in the competition.

The goal also seemed to inspire his Spurs teammates, who had been dominating possession against Everton.

And they went two goals up before the half-time whistle when Christian Eriksen also helped himself to his first goal of the campaign.
