MANCHESTER CITY want to sign Swansea starlet Joe Rodon — the John Stones of Wales.

Centre-back Rodon skippers the Welsh club’s under-23 side in Premier League 2 — even though he is not 20 until next month.

Rodon is a classy, footballing defender who is hotly tipped to make a Premier League breakthrough.

Some senior colleagues are already lobbying for the Wales Under-21 cap to play sooner rather than later for both club and country.

Swansea are aware of the interest and have a lot of transfer history with City.

The move may come down to whether he wants to change clubs in the next window and join the queue for a game at the Etihad — or stay at home.
