MANCHESTER UNITED are well on-track to win the Premier League title this season... because they got a result away to Stoke.

While Jose Mourinho and Co were left disappointed after Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting snatched an equaliser to force a 2-2 draw, there is reason to be happy.

After all, no team has ever won the Premier League after losing at the bet365 Stadium - or Britannia Stadium as it was known.

Arsenal have already fallen at the first hurdle too, having lost 1-0 thanks to a Jese Rodriguez strike in only their second game of 2017-18.

In the Potters’ nine, full top-flight campaigns, they’ve become the ultimate curse… a true bogey team.

Of the champions in Stoke’s Prem seasons, six have won in the Midlands, while three have drawn. None have lost…

While only three teams have drawn away to the Potters and won the league - United would join Leicester in 2015-16 and neighbours Manchester City in 2011-12 and 2013-14 should they win the title.

The Foxes' famous campaign - where they stunned the footballing world to win the Premier League - also saw them play out a 2-2 draw.

United however were disappointed to lose their 100 per cent start to the campaign, following 4-0 wins over West Ham and Swansea and a 2-0 victory against Leicester.

Having gone 1-0 down just before half-time, Marcus Rashford scored with virtually the final kick of the opening 45 minutes.

Romelu Lukaku then put United 2-1 ahead on the hour-mark... only for Choupo-Moting to level things up again.

Mourinho's men next take on Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday September 17.
