FRANK DE BOER is in line for a £2million pay-off despite being sacked after just 77 days as Crystal Palace manager.
De Boer was yesterday axed from his job after guiding his team to four straight Premier League defeats in which the team has failed to score a single goal.
Yet though he drew a blank, the Dutchman is laughing all the way to the bank with the huge settlement figure now on it's way into his accounts.
De Boer had signed a three-year deal worth £6m when he took over at Selhurst Park in the summer as Palace ended their search for a new boss to replace Sam Allardyce.
Under the terms of that contract it is understood he would receive a year's worth of money if he was to be sacked early.
And with Palace deciding to pull the trigger so early in the deal they will have to cough up the £2m to pay off De Boer - meaning all-in-all, the Dutchman raked in over £6.4m... more than Neymar has earned since joining PSG.
Now the London club are trying to get a replacement in as quickly as possible - with Roy Hodgson expected to be named the new boss as early as today.
Despite being 70, Hodgson has insisted he still has a hunger to work in management despite his failed time in charge of England.
And the Croydon-born boss is close to being unveiled, after Palace chairman Steve Parish had called ex-boss Allardyce just to check if he still wanted to stay in retirement.
Saturday's home game against Southampton is now of huge importance, with the club desperately needing to secure their first win of the season.
