Wayne Rooney arrives at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport wearing his wedding ring ahead of Everton’s Europa League clash with Atalanta on Thursday
WAYNE ROONEY was spotted arriving at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport wearing his wedding ring on Wednesday morning.
The Everton star, 31, is en route to Italy as his side take on Atalanta in their Europa League opener on Thursday night.
Coleen Rooney fuelled rumours of a split earlier this week after she ditched her wedding ring, following Wayne's drink-drive arrest.
Coleen, 31, has discarded two diamond-encrusted bands — her £250,000 wedding ring and a £200,000 engagement ring.
Pals of the childhood sweethearts fear their nine-year marriage is over after claims the football star “kissed and cuddled” clubber Laura Simpson and leered over her boobs.
However, Everton ace Rooney has been standing firm, wearing his wedding band daily - having been seen leaving training in the ring earlier this week.
Yet Roo looked glum as he arrived at John Lennon Airport for the crunch Europa League curtain-raiser.
The Toffees were thumped 3-0 in their last game - at home to Tottenham in the Premier League.

And boss Ronald Koeman - also pictured arriving at the airport on Wednesday morning - will be hoping for a much better showing on Thursday evening.
Everton face Serie A side Atalanta at 6pm at the Mapei Stadium.
Koeman has no new injury concerns on his plate for the big game in Italy.
However, long-term absentees James McCarthy, Yannick Bolasie, Seamus Coleman, Ramiro Funes Mori and Ross Barkley are still unavailable.
