Romelu Lukaku, Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane nominated for Champions League player of the week — but face competition from Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar
Premier League trio impressed on opening weekend as English sides recorded four wins and draw on matchday one
THREE Premier League stars — as well as the usual suspects — have been nominated for the Champions League player of the week award.
Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah are all in contention following their performances on matchday one.
However, they will face stiff competition from Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, James Rodriguez and Shakhtar Donetsk ace Taison.
Kane netted twice as Tottenham stormed to an impressive victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
While, Salah and Lukaku both scored on their Champions League debuts form Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.
Ronaldo and Messi both kicked off their campaigns with two goals each, while Neymar's new surroundings didn't affect his performances as was sensational for Paris Saint-Germain.
James Rodriguez is the only nominee on the list not to find the back of the net.
But the Colombian was brilliant on his Bayern Munich bow.
