Liverpool fans fume at Steven Gerrard’s appearance in Pro Evolution Soccer 2018
Anfield legend's strange look in the football game enflames social media users as supporters compare him to Reds starlet
IT sounds like a movie advert: Steven Gerrard as you have never seen him before.
But in fact it is the story of the latest gruesome graphic from Pro Evolution Soccer 2018.
You might have thought the now-retired Liverpool and England legend was a familiar face to everyone in football.
But you might think again when you see how the popular computer game has visualised the 37-year-old.
Reds' fans could barely contain their derision and amusement on social media.
One supporter even compared the strange representation of ex-Three Lions skipper Gerrard to young Liverpool right-back Jon Flanagan.
But apart from Flanagan, there are hints of Barcelona's ex-Anfield striker Luis Suarez about the new-look Gerro.
Home-grown Gerrard played more than 500 games for the Reds and won 104 England caps.

But that failed to save him from the game-makers taking the PES over one of the most famous players of the modern era.
Earlier this week, sportbible.com also took PES 2018 to task about how their version of new West Ham striker Javier Hernandez possibly looks more like West Brom’s summer signing Gareth Barry.
And their facial faux pas over marauding midfielder Gerrard has attracted an even bigger response from fans.
Steve Nornbeck @shorn71 asked of the PES graphic: “Why does he look like Jon Flanagan?”
Martin Lynch @lynchy022 was just as quick to make a comparison, saying Gerrard “looks a cross between him and @NeilMellor33”.
Nojo @NojoSYD commented: “That looks atrocious.”
And a keen-eyed Henrik Juhl @ Zeuchon said: “Why has he got [Roberto] Firmino’s teeth?”
