ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI has fallen out of favour at Bayern Munich and Manchester City are keen to capitalise on the situation.

The Polish striker could be reunited with Pep Guardiola in January, after a year and a half apart.

Lewandowski publicly criticised Bayern Munich's transfer policy over the summer and was disgruntled that they were not competing with the likes of PSG for players.

Should he move to Manchester City, he would have no concerns over the club splashing the cash to bring in new talent.

The captain of the Polish national side won the Bundesliga with Bayern last year and has been a prolific goal scorer for the club.

In March 2017, he reached the 100 goal milestone for the club, during his 137th appearance.

This season alone he has scored five times from four games, scoring twice in Saturday's game against Mainz,  it comes as little surprise that he was ranked sixth in Fifa 18's player ratings.

Lewandowski prospered under Guardiola at Bayern- the pull of Pep could prove stronger than that of the other Premier League clubs that have their eye on the striker.

Bayern Munich's loss to Hoffenheim left questions hanging over Carlo Ancelotti's future at the Bavaria, but he has since declared that he is happy at Bayern and isn't angling for a return to the Premier League.

The Italian took over from Guardiola last year and led the club to their fifth successive Bundesliga title.

Bayern were only guided to the last-eight in the Champions League and Lewandowski is thought to want to be at a club that can go further.

Real Madrid was his favourite childhood club but with the Spanish club not in favour of purchasing players over 30, the 29-year-old striker has turned his attention to English clubs.
