Pedro injury opens door for Eden Hazard to start for Chelsea in midweek League Cup clash with Nottingham Forest
Antonio Conte has been patient with the Belgium midfielder since his return from injury but the Blues boss is now ready to give him his biggest test
ANTONIO CONTE could give Eden Hazard his first start since breaking his ankle last season in the Carabao Cup match against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
The Blues boss has eased the Belgium star back into the action, wanting to be patient with to avoid taking a "stupid risk."
Hazard made his injury comeback last weekend in the Blues 2-1 over Leicester and featured off the bench in the Champions League clash with Qarabag.
He was given more minutes to test the water against Arsenal, and with matches coming thick and fast, Conte is now eager to give him his first full game against the Championship side.
After the 0-0 draw against Arsenal Conte said: "The last 20 minutes Hazard played very well.
"On Wednesday he'll have the possibility to start the game against Nottingham Forest and complete his recovery."
Hazard's return to the starting XI could replace Pedro who suffered a knock against Arsenal.
Conte said: "[Pedro] was a bit injured because he got a kick on his ankle.

"We have to check with the doctor, but I hope this problem is not serious."
