Manchester City on track to smash Chelsea’s record of 103 goals in a Premier League season… already averaging 3.2 strikes per game so far in 2017-18
MANCHESTER CITY have got off to a flying start in the Premier League this season, dropping just two points from their five games.
Pep Guardiola's men sit top of the table - albeit on alphabetical order - ahead of rivals Manchester United with 13 points.
But it's not just the winning that's impressed fans, it's the manner of the victories.
After all, their last two Premier League matches have been a 5-0 demolition of Liverpool at home and a 6-0 steamrolling of Watford at Vicarage Road.
Sandwiched in between those two league encounters was the 4-0 away hammering of Dutch giants Feyenoord.
Simply put, defences are running scared at the moment and with an attacking force including Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne it's easy to see why.
The depth of talent in the squad is simply sensational, with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and even David Silva being forced to fight for minutes.
So far this season, Guardiola's rampant Man City have scored an average of 3.2 goals per game.

That puts them on track to not only beat, but destroy, the Premier League record for most goals in a single season; currently Chelsea in 2009-10, with 103 at 2.7 per game.
The current projection sees the Etihad side set to find the net 121 times, and while it seems unlikely they can keep up their hot start, they've got plenty of room for leeway.
Back in 2009-10, a Chelsea side including Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Nicolas Anelka stormed to the Premier League title with 86 points.
They netted 103 times that term, thanks to 29 goals from Golden Boot winner Drogba.

While that Blues squad, under the leadership of Carlo Ancelotti, was strong, it's hard to find any way to argue they were stronger in attack than City, at least on paper.
Despite a host of summer additions, Guardiola's back-line still poses more questions than answers.
But you'd back the Manchester outfit to outscore their opponents any day of the week and that alone gives them an incredible chance to break the eight-year record.
