Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul permanently moves to Brighton and Hove Albion just weeks into season-long loan deal
NEWCASTLE goalkeeper Tim Krul has made his season-long loan move to Brighton and Hove Albion permanent just weeks into his season-long loan deal.
The Dutch stopper will bring an end to his 12-year stint at St James' Park to head to the south coast after struggling to break into Rafa Benitez's plans.
Krul, 29, has already turned out once for the Seagulls this season - in the 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat at the hands of Bournemouth.
In a statement, Newcastle said: "Everyone at Newcastle United would like to thank Tim for his long service to the club, and wish him and his family well for the future."
Krul had joined the club from Dutch side ADO Den Haag in 2005, before making his debut in the Uefa Cup clash with Palermo a year later.
The eight-cap Holland international spent time away on loan at Falkirk, Carlisle, Ajax and AZ Alkmaar.
However, he did make 185 appearances in all competitions for the Toon.
Krul could even make his Premier League debut for Brighton against Newcastle - as the two clubs go head-to-head on Sunday.
