Watford star Sebastian Prodl signs new four-year Hornets contract
Austrian defender and current player of the year at Vicarage Road extends stay after joining from Werder Bremen in 2015
SEBASTIAN PRODL has landed a new four-year deal at Watford.
The Hornets' current player of the year has shone at centre-back since joining from Werder Bremen in 2015.
The Austria star, who has hit three goals in his 61 games for the Hornets, is out injured at the moment after picking up a knock in a 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat in Wales on September 2.
He told the Watford website: "I am very pleased to sign a new deal at Watford.
"I hope to be back on the pitch soon and am looking forward to the next four years."
Prodl, 30, began his career with Sturm Graz before hitting the big time with when he joined Bundesliga side Werder in 2010.
And the 6ft 4ins defender has been one of the Hornets' most reliable players during their two years back in the top-flight.
But against Wales at Cardiff early this month he limped off in the 27th minute with a hamstring injury, soon after being booked.

Watford believe his return to full fitness is imminent, though.
And Hornet boss Marco Silva surely needs him, too, because his 11th-placed side have let in nine goals in their five Premier League games.
A statement on the Watford website said: "The Hornets are pleased to confirm that defender Sebastian Prodl has signed a new contract with the club."
