Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho makes donation to former Premier League referee Mark Halsey’s fundraising quest to enter the Guinness Book of World Records
JOSE MOURINHO has donated goal posts to aid Mark Halsey's quest in entering the Guinness Book of World Records.
The charitable Manchester United boss has offered the portable equipment for ex-Prem top ref Halsey's Mount Kilimanjaro challenge next month.
SunSport's whistleblower will be part of a 40-strong party aiming to scale Africa's highest peak between October 11-23 - and help raise £200,000 for the Steve Prescott Foundation by officiating a match at the top of the mountain for the first time.
Mourinho and United have thrown their support behind the good cause by providing the two sets of goal posts from the club's Carrington HQ.
Halsey said: "It's a fantastic gesture from Jose and United."
Mourinho played in goal in the Grenfell Tower charity game earlier this month - where he was cautioned by Halsey for time-wasting.
Halsey added: "I saw Jose a few weeks ago at Loftus Road and I mentioned I was doing the charity challenge by refereeing a game at the top of Kilimanjaro.
"He said, 'I can help with goal posts. Leave it with me.' I emailed him and within a few days he delivered on his word.

Charity organisers have now asked Turkish airlines if they will carry the goal posts to Tanzania.
Following the trek, Mourinho and United have also given the OK for the equipment to be donated to a local school.
