Juan Cuadrado talks Arsenal bid as ex-Chelsea flop and Juventus ace breaks his silence over failed £26million move

JUAN CUADRADO has opened up over his failed summer move to Arsenal.

The Juventus star was a target for the Gunners last month, with reports claiming Arsene Wenger failed with a £17million bid.

And it’s now been claimed that Arsenal will return for Cuadrado in January after giving up on Thomas Lemar.

However, the ex-Chelsea winger doesn’t seem to be too bothered about remaining in Turin, explaining that he’s happy in Italy and is excited by the direction that Juve are taking.

He said: “I’ve never really thought of leaving Juventus. I am happy to have stayed here because this club trusts me.

“I am happy with my performances and I am happy with my new team-mates as well.”

Cuadrado failed to impress during an ill-fated six-month spell at Stamford Bridge in 2016.

But a stunning resurgence at Italian champions Juventus saw him fall under Wenger’s radar.

And new arrivals may be needed ASAP as doubts linger over the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

The duo are both out of contract next summer and have given no indication they are willing to sign new deals.

The feeling around the Emirates is that they both leave for nothing.

And Cuadrado may be brought in sooner rather than later to avoid any further backlash from Arsenal fans.
