And Loftus-Cheek, 21, insists he is not worried about knowing if he is in Antonio Conte's long-term plans at the moment.

Loftus-Cheek told the Daily Star: “Not at all.

“But I don’t think it’s right to because you never know how I’ll preform this season. So, right now I’m just literally focused on Palace.

“He [Conte] said I need to play games. Chelsea is a big club and there’s a lot of pressure which I understand.

“For me, I think it was the right time for me to go away from Chelsea right now and get my game time elsewhere.”

Loftus-Cheek has not had the greatest starts to life in South London with Palace yet to record a win this season.

Frank de Boer was axed and Roy Hodgson was drafted in after just four games.

But the England Under-21 international has given the former Three Lions boss his thumbs up and is backing him to succeed at Selhurst Park.

Loftus-Cheek added: “I’m really just enjoying playing, that’s the main thing for me at the moment.

“I just want to play as many games as possible and improve.

“For me right now I’m happy. I know we haven’t made the best of starts, but we have to try and fight – and I want to stay and fight with Palace.

“It’s good for Roy to come in, and as players we think we’re going to turn it around.

“As players we need to believe that. No one says it’s going to be easy, but we’re going to work hard on the training pitch every day and I truly think we have the capability to turn things around.

“It’s a good squad, we just need to bring the best out of them.”
