West Ham 2 Tottenham 3 match highlights: Harry Kane scores twice in first half as Serge Aurier is sent off on Premier League debut

The Spurs striker hit a quickfire double in the space of four minutes, with Christian Eriksen making it 3-0 in the second period, before Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate pulled goals back

HARRY KANE and Christian Eriksen ruthlessly punished shocking West Ham defending to make it three wins out of three on the road for Spurs.

England striker Kane headed a 34th-minute opener before slotting in a second just four minutes later as Spurs made up for their Wembley woes.

The first came after Andy Carroll –on as a first-half sub for injured Michail Antonio – gave away possession with a terrible pass.

Eriksen picked the ball up and released Dele Alli down the right and his pinpoint pass was headed home by Kane to give Spurs a 34th-minute lead.

And four minutes later, West Ham had totally collapsed.

Joe Hart’s long punt up field was lost again by Carroll. Eriksen was on to like a flash and played in Alli again and his shot was parried by the Hammers keeper but into the path of Kane, who slotted home.

But Hammers fans will be wondering why there was not a single one of their players anywhere near Kane.

West Ham did have two chances to score in the first half.

First when Javier Hernandez fired a 25-yard shot inches over the bar.

And Serge Aurier produced an absolutely brilliant last-ditch tackle to deny Marko Arnautovic what looked a certain Hammers opener.

After the break, Spurs added the third.

Kane fired a free-kick from the left side against a post. It rebounded out to Aurier on the right and his cross was deflected to Eriksen, who fired home from the edge of the box in the 59th minute.

Then moments after that Kane hit a post with an angled shot.

But West Ham pulled one back when Jose Fonte flicked on a corner for Hernandez to nod home from point-blank range.

Hernandez almost netted a second when he headed a cross straight at Hugo Lloris.

Spurs were reduced to ten men when Aurier picked up a second booking for a late tackle on Carroll.

This railed the Hammers and Hernandez forced a fine save from Lloris.

West Ham gave themselves a late lifeline when sub Arthur Masuaku's left-wing cross was met by a Cheikhou Kouyate header to bet Lloris with four minutes left.
