DESPITE two first half goals from Harry Kane, Tottenham have Serge Aurier to thank for going into the break 2-0 up against West Ham, but he was then SENT OFF.

Making his Premier League debut for Spurs, Maurico Pochettino handed the ex-Paris Saint-Germain star a start after impressing in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

Aurier crucially intervened in the 16th minute as the Austrian raced into the box, and looked to lash home past Hugo Lloris.

Toby Alderweireld was unable to stop the ex-Stoke man, but the Ivorian - lucky not to give away a penalty for holding Arnautovic's shirt - got back in time to spare his blushes.

It was one of the only real opportunities for Slaven Bilic's side in the opening 45 minutes.

West Ham looked lacklustre when going forward, and conceded quickfire goals with the half-time whistle looming.

Kane notched up a double in the space of four minutes past the hapless Joe Hart.
