Russian Premier League team FC UFA evacuates hotel after bomb scare ahead of clash with Arsenal Tula

Two sides were set to go head-to-head on Sunday afternoon, but is now unclear if the game will go ahead after threat

RUSSIAN Premier League team FC UFA has evacuated their hotel following a bomb scare.

The side were preparing for their clash with Arsenal Tula at the Neftyanik Stadium, with kick-off due for 2.30pm BST.

FC UFA revealed the news on their Twitter, saying: "The team was taken out of the hotel because of a phone call about a bomb.

"The installation of a coach for the match with Arsenal did not take place.

"All in a light shock."

Ahead of the game, FC UFA were sitting in 12th of the 16-team Russian top-flight, with Arsenal Tula in tenth.

Zenit St Petersburg are currently top of the Russian Premier League after ten games - ahead of Krasnodar, CSKA Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow and Rostov.

UFA and Arsenal's youth teams played each other earlier in the day - before news of the bomb scare.

UFA won that game 3-1.
